Shea Rose - Extended Play

Rock ‘n Rose

"Rock ‘n Rose" is a self-produced mashup that pays tribute to my musical influences.

The EP showcases my versatility as a songwriter and performer and my ability to connect with audiences through various musical styles and genres. At the time, I described myself as the female Lenny Kravitz meets Lauryn Hill with a splash of Betty Davis!

More to the Story

I lived for guitars and rockstar legends! Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Led Zeppelin were all my favorites. I admired their untethered performances and tried to channel that energy on stage. I found similar admiration for hip-hop pioneers Lauryn Hill and Nas, who taught me how to tell a compelling story through rhyming.

Nina Simone introduced me to activism through her performances, and Stevie Wonder and Jeff Buckley taught me how to channel love and divinity. Pop, R&B, and neo-soul musicians have also influenced my artistry. There are too many to name, but Whitney Houston says it all! These incredible artists continue to serve as sources of inspiration and guidance. I'll always treasure their musical wisdom.

“Modern music is bursting with clones, but singer/rapper Shea Rose has created her own niche.”

“The self-described female ‘Lenny Kravitz meets Lauryn Hill’ brings a blend of hip-hop, r&b, jazz, funk, and rock that leaves her virtually peerless in the urban-music world.”
