What’s free
to you?

it’s just a feeling.
a deeper calling.

As a young girl, I felt a deep calling to liberate my voice. I wasn’t sure exactly what that meant at the time; it was just a feeling an inner knowing.

I followed that pull toward freedom — my heart leading the way. I learned to befriend fear, discomfort, and doubt, and in exchange, I found the courage to take my place on the stage of life, expressing my voice in all its color and form.

Our own life has to be our message

My story, my message

I know the pain of little black girls — those silenced, ignored, or not believed. I can relate to the aspiring singer struggling to hear her voice amidst the noise. I understand the creative woman who longs to redefine success on her terms.

For years, I suffered from chronic vocal fatigue and throat pain. Depending on the day, the person, or the audience, I was vocally confident or choked by fear — overwhelmed, tense, and disconnected from myself. Feeling lost and invisible, I often felt my voice had no home inside my body.

The physical and emotional strain led to a vocal cord injury and surgery.

Even after surgery, I kept trying to push my way through—to "make it." I was even offered a major record deal, yet beneath it all was a whisper I could no longer ignore.

Slowly, I stopped performing. My body knew what my mind wasn't yet ready to accept.

Deep down, I yearned to know the wiser, more liberated version of myself. I was ready to heal myself.

A difficult decision turned out to be a lifeline. I gathered a team of holistic healers and integrative medicine practitioners to aid my recovery, and began cultivating a practice that helped me listen more deeply to my body and inner life. Over time, I learned that embodied voice is rooted in profound listening, openness, and acceptance.

Today, I speak and sing from a place of honesty and wisdom.

The Embodied Voice & Yoga program offerings are a rich blend of the practices that have helped heal my body, heart, spirit, and voice. What I share with you are the sweetest, most abundant fruits of my healing and liberation journey.

It would be an honor to support you on your journey of becoming.

A little more about me…

What I appreciated most about working with Shea was her patience and willingness to be open and vulnerable, which allowed me to do the same.”

“I’ve never been good at promoting my creative work and have struggled to find the voice to talk about myself. What I appreciated most about working with Shea was her patience and willingness to be open and vulnerable, which encouraged me to do the same. She advised me on how to promote my artistic events and endeavors on social media, both verbally and visually. I now have the tools to share my work publicly in an authentic way.”
